Priority1 Training is run by Lindsey Read. As Director of the Centre for Action on Rape
and Abuse and prior to that, the Director of a Council for Voluntary Service,
she has a wealth of experience and expertise, both of running voluntary sector
organisations and of working with victims of abuse, having worked in the sector
for a great many years.
Lindsey is passionate about the importance of ‘getting it
right’ and has acted as an advocate for people with mental health issues as well as providing support for people who self-injure and their families, particularly
those with a history of abuse.
It is absolutely vital that survivors of abuse receive the appropriate response and support when, and if, they decide disclose their experience and sometimes aspects of this may be counter-intuitive. For that reason, appropriate training is a 'must have' to avoid further distress to the survivor.
Lindsey has trained professionals over a long period of time in the most appropriate way of working with this client group, based on an empowerment model. Putting the client as the first priority.
When you use the services of Priority1 Training, it is likely to be Lindsey who
will be working with you. She has a wide network of professional links on which
to draw and will work with you in a solution-focused way. The daily rate for
training is £400, discounted for longer pieces of work.
